Product information "VET ROYAL mucOstat"

Due to changes in husbandry and feeding conditions, diseases of the gastrointestinal tract are among the most common indications in veterinary practice.

The reasons for this are manifold: too much stress, too much grain with too little work, too little or bad roughage. This has led, inter alia, to an excessive, prophylactic use of omeprazole preparations in stress patients. However, since these products are basically only reabsorbed via the small intestine, the administration is in many cases not at all unhelpful, because in most gastric patients, the intestinal flora is significantly impaired.
The goal in the development of the mucostat was to prepare the entire digestive system of the horse optimally to the treatment regimen of the veterinarian. Similarly, a feeding-related alternative for stress-related stomach problems should arise. Feeding trials in well-known clinics confirm the relevance of such a solution.
The basis of Vet Royal Mucostat are expanded soybeans, they form an optimal basis for a stomach-friendly administration. The integrated lignocellulose can provide for the binding of excess stomach acid.
The ability of white poppy seed extract (Macleaya cordata) is to be able to influence the prostaglandin secretion and thus indirectly to influence the inflammatory processes in the gastric mucosa.
As apart from the stomach, the intestine is usually secondarily affected as well, mucostats also contain ingredients which in particular can have a stabilizing effect on the intestines. Here, the included Jerusalem artichoke concentrate is particularly relevant; a concentrated prebiotic that can sustainably stabilize the intestinal flora. The inulin contained therein serves as an excellent food source for bifidobacteria and supports the intestinal flora. The pectins contained in the fruit pomace additionally provide a stimulating effect on the intestinal peristalsis.
